Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. Introduction
SEO Scout ("we," "our," or "us") operates https://seoscout.co. This policy explains what data we process, why, and your rights — especially if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom under the GDPR.
2. Data controller
For privacy inquiries and data subject requests, contact us at [email protected].
3. Free SEO tools (browser-local processing)
Our free tools (meta tag generator, schema builder, keyword analyzer, and others) run entirely in your browser. The URLs and text you paste are not sent to our servers for analysis. This is central to how we protect your privacy.
4. Website analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, and device types. Plausible does not use cookies and does not build individual user profiles.
We only load Plausible after you consent via our cookie banner. If you reject non-essential tracking, no analytics script is requested. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your choice.
We do not use Google Analytics on seoscout.co.
5. Cookies and local storage
We store your consent preference in browser local storage so we do not ask on every page load. Optional analytics is gated behind that choice. Full details: Cookie Policy.
6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
- Consent — analytics (Plausible), when you opt in
- Legitimate interests — site security, abuse prevention, and improving our free tools and content
- Contract / pre-contractual steps — responding to support or partnership emails you send us
7. Your GDPR rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or erasure
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw analytics consent at any time (via Cookie settings)
- Data portability, where applicable
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g. your national data protection regulator)
To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data retention
Consent preferences remain in your browser until you clear site data or we update our consent version. Emails you send us are retained as long as needed to resolve your inquiry. Plausible aggregates are retained per Plausible's policy (typically 24 months for stats).
9. Third-party links
Our guides and comparisons link to external tools and documentation. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Partner relationships are disclosed on our Disclosures page.
10. International transfers
Plausible processes data in the EU. If you contact us by email, your message may be stored on infrastructure located outside the EEA depending on our email provider — we use providers with appropriate safeguards where required.
11. Children
SEO Scout is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. Material updates will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. A new consent version may prompt the cookie banner again.
